Now that's what I call a win for Mediavest

DDB Brazil has been appointed to represent the four supermarkets in the Walmart chain in the region. It will handle advertising for the Hiper Bompreço, Bompreço, Big, Nacional and Mercadorama stores, as well as the Walmart brand.

Now That’s What I Call Music has appointed MediaVest to handle its £6m media planning and buying account for the UK and Ireland. MediaVest will manage all upcoming releases in the series of various artists’ compilation albums, starting with the release of Now That’s What I Call Music 86 next month. The agency was appointed following a three way pitch against Mindshare and MediaCom.

Sydney’s CP Communications, helmed by Catriona Pollard, has won the public relations and social media account for Australian Indigenous art, strategy and communications company, Jumbana Group. It has also announced that it has won the public relations and social media account for event audiovisual services firm AVPartners.

Ferrero, the owner of brands such as Ferrero Rocher, Nutella and Tic Tac, has announced the appointment of Omnicom for its consolidated media account. Omnicom will handle media buying and business planning for Australia, the UK, the US, and Russia from 1 January.

Travelodge has given its £15m media planning and buying account to Interpublic’s Initiative UK as part of its £223m brand investment programme. Initiative has been tasked with overseeing the media planning and buying ahead of a major campaign which will launch in spring 2014.

Hasbro has announced the appointment of Grey New York to handle a ‘sizable’ number of its brands, including My Little Pony, Transformers and Star Wars.

Alpine Guru has appointed Rooster to handle PR activity in a deal worth five figures following a competitive pitch.

VCCP has been appointed to handle the launch campaign for mobile payments service, Zaap, beating M&C Saatchi for the multi-million pound business.

Accounts Under Review

Disney is reviewing its EMEA media planning and buying. Carat currently handles the account, having won it in 2010 after it was consolidated.

A review is underway for the European digital and media business for Revlon. Publicis Groupe's Holler has worked on the brand's digital and social activity in the UK, however they are not involved in the process.

GlaxoSmithKline is reviewing its global digital advertising account as it looks to streamline the business. It currently works with over 100 agencies for its digital offering, which Grey Worlwide handles the bulk of its UK advertising.

Bacardi is reviewing the creative account for its Eristoff brand of vodka, currently handled by Isobar. Isobar will not be repitching for the business.
