Melbourne’s Native Digital has announced a ‘global Google Earth treasure hunt’ to promote its client Rekorderlig Cider's new flavour.

A year's supply of cider up for grabs

The execution is via a Facebook app inviting participants to ‘explore the globe and search for the new flavour’ before it is officially released.

The agency said the app challenges participants to unpick clues on the brand’s Swedish heritage and exact details of Rekorderlig's stockists and locations of where purchase to the cider in Australia.

Native Digital said it had created its most ambitious app to date, mapping objects to the globe using real-life location coordinates on Google Maps.

"Rekorderlig Cider is excited to announce the global launch of our latest flavour for summer here in Australia. Rekorderlig has put the discovery of our new flavour in the hands of our 266,000 Facebook fans via our consumer app - The Great Rekorderlig Cider Hunt!" said marketing executive for Rekorderlig, Elle Lewis.

The agency said that over 10 days, the first person to answer the day's clues will win a case of Rekorderlig Cider, one per day. The first person to solve all clues released over the ten days will receive a year's supply of Rekorderlig Cider.
