ASOS to continue mobile app development for strategic markets as it reveals growth to 7.1 million active users

Online fashion retailer ASOS will continue to develop its mobile apps having grown its active user base to 7.1 million customers in the last year.

in announcing its year-end figures, the company reported a 40 per cent growth in sales overall to reach a 23 per cent growth in pre-tax profits of £54.7m, while it has seen UK retail sales grow by 34 per cent and international sales by 44 per cent, with its active users growing from 5 million last year.

The company has also stated that it aims to "constantly enhance" it websites with a focus on developing its mobile sites and apps to offer international customers the same access as afforded to the UK market through its dedicated mobile sites.

An upgrade of its mobile site was rolled out in April, with an upgraded iOS app and new Android app released earlier this month. US versions are expected in the next six months as ASOS turns it attention to developing its mobile apps to serve its strategic markets.

The company has also revealed that it is still on target to meet £1bn in sales this year.
