Dr Martens has begun its #STANDFORSOMETHING tour, a series of gigs which kicked off in Manchester earlier this month with three bands- Sonic Boom Six, Save Your Breath and LTNT.

The gigs are part of the brand’s wider #STANDFORSOMETHING campaign, developed by creative agency ODD, which will run globally for two years across print, OOH, POS, experiential and digital advertising.

Intimate shows are taking place in five cities across the UK this month with bands such as Sonic Boom Six, Young Guns, Spector, Lower Than Atlantis and Dry the River all confirmed to play.

The tour launched in Manchester, before heading to Bristol, and will continue in London, Nottingham and Glasgow. Tickets are priced at just £5 and are on sale in Dr. Martens stores and online.

The Young Guns, a band who played at the Bristol gig last week, said their night was “brilliant.”

“It was so nice to reconnect with a select amount of our core audience. We saw people tonight, in the audience, that have been with us for the past four years, since we were playing our EP,” Gus Wood told media-partner, DIY.

“That just feels so amazing, that they’re still with us, and I’m so excited about the next chapter of our band. This was a really nice way to remember how good it’s been, but also to really remind ourselves how lucky we are, and how much we have to look forward to.”

When the campaign was announced, Simon Jobson, Dr. Martens marketing director, said that the brand has been shaped by the wearers, and that “#STANDFORSOMETHING “recognises this, while providing the perfect platform for us to engage our fans, new and old.”

The next gig takes place in London on the 26 October. More information can be found on the dedicated tour website.
