Google has released a video revealing the earliest stages of its partnership with Nasa to form a Quantum Artificial Intelligence Lab.

The short film gives viewers a peak at the lab’s 512-qubit D-Wave Two quantum computer - which is stored in a refrigerator to ensure the chip is operated at a temperature colder than interstellar space - and provides an overview of some of the questions and ideas the lab was born out of.

Google announced the partnership with Nasa in May and the lab has been created at Nasa’s Ames Research Centre in California.
