Absolut, the Swedish vodka brand, is gearing up to launch a new range of limited edition vodka bottles, Absolut Originality.

Four million bottles will carry an original design created by adding a drop of Absolut Blue Cobalt to the glass bottle.

A statement from Absolut further explained that: "The new cutting-edge design has been created by releasing a drop of cobalt blue into the glass, which is added just as the molten glass goes into the mould at 1100°C. At that temperature, the cobalt is invisible, but as the glass cools off, a beautiful and unique blue infusion appears inside the glass of each bottle in a truly original way."

Over the past decade, Absolut has launched over 60 original campaigns featuring limited edition flavours or bottle designs which the company has created both independently and in collaboration with a host of international artists.

Originality is the second Absolut campaign to feature individually designed bottles after 2012's Absolut Unique, when the company allowed the machinery which designs the bottles to run automatically, creating an infinite range of different colours and patterns.

First distributed in Sweden in 1879, Absolut was not marketed globally until a century later, and has since gone on to become the world's third most popular brand of vodka after Bacardi and Smirnoff. Though still produced in Sweden, Absolut is now owned by French company Pernod Ricard, having been purchased from the Swedish state for €5.63 billion in 2008.
