IPC Media has appointed Jo Smalley as publishing director of NME and Uncut in addition to holding the role at Nuts.

Appointment: Jo Smalley has taken on new roles for NME and Uncut

Prior to joining IPC in 2003, Smalley had a group managing director stint at EMAP and worked for OK and The Sunday Telegraph in a journalist role.

Paul Williams, managing director at IPC Inspire, said: “Nuts, NME and Uncut are at the forefront of how consumers are embracing digital and accessing our content in new and exciting ways.

“This has been a key focus for Jo and the Nuts team so it makes perfect sense for him to take on this role and bring these three brands together under his direction.”

In a staff shake-up, Nuts publisher James Thrower has been named publisher of Uncut, and NME’s head of marketing and events, Ellinor Miles, has been promoted to publisher.

Alex Robb, publishing director of TrustedReviews, Amateur Photographer and What Digital Camera has been given responsibility for gaming website Mousebreaker, formerly handled by Smalley.
