The Scottish Professional Football League has signed a new sponsorship deal with Irn Bru but the search for a main title sponsor continues.

Deal: Irn Bru has become an SPFL sponsor

According to BBC Scotland, the deal with the AG Barr brand is worth a “substantial six-figure sum” and follows Irn Bru’s previous six-season sponsorship of the Scottish Football League (SFL) before it merged with the SPL to create this season’s Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL).

However, SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster said the football body was still looking for a main title and League Cup sponsor.

He told the BBC: “We remain in discussions with a number of different bodies around league title sponsorship and also League Cup sponsorship.

He added: “It is important not to put time scales on this.”

AG Barr head of marketing Adrian Troy said: “We’re proud that our deal with the SPFL lets us extend our support to the clubs across all four divisions.”
