Former Unilever CEO and Reuters chairman Niall FitzGerald KBE is named non-executive chairman of Brand Learning

Former Unilever CEO and Reuters chairman Niall FitzGerald KBE has been named the first non-executive chairman of Brand Learning.

FitzGerald, who also served as deputy chairman of Thomson Reuters until 2011, will advise on international and expansion for the marketing consultancy.

Mhairi McEwan, chief executive and co-founder of Brand Learning, said: “The depth and breadth of international business experience that Niall brings will be of enormous benefit to Brand Learning.

“Niall has always been passionate about the role of marketing and brands in driving business growth and is a tireless advocate of the contribution of outstanding people in driving shareholder value.”

Brand Learning opened a US office 18 months ago and the area now accounts for 30 per cent of its global business.

It works with brands including PepsiCo, Astra Zeneca, GSK, Unilever, Shell, Novartis and Kellogg.
