Facebook has announced a raft of new features for its mobile app ads in a bid to increase consumer engagement with businesses and promote conversions.

According to a study conducted by Localytics, some 66 per cent of app users only open apps between one and ten times; necessitating fresh ways encouraging repeat visits.

To do just that seven new calls to action have been included within mobile app ads such as; 'Open Link', 'Use App,' 'Shop Now,' 'Play Game,' 'Book Now,' 'Listen Now,' or 'Watch Video.'

This allows partner businesses to send customers directly to specific content, sales or promotions within their apps; such as discounted fares on a travel app or new playlists on a music app.

Commenting on the new features Kevin Kwon, marketing manager at HotelTonight commented: "The ability to engage people on mobile by deep linking them into our app from Facebook is very powerful. We’re excited to be working with Facebook on this new feature; it has significant potential to drive bookings in our app.”
