A video created by a 25-year-old American of herself dancing around her deserted office, which was used as her resignation, has gone viral online after it was posted on YouTube.

Marina Shifrin, the 25 year-old American, who was working for Taiwanese company, Next Media Animations, decided to turn her employers’ penchant for viral videos against them by filming herself resigning in the form of an interpretive dance set to Kanye West’s ‘Gone’.

In it, Ms Shifrin explains, “for two years I’ve sacrificed my relationships, time and energy for this job.”

“And my boss only cares about quantity and how many views each video gets.”

After a brief ‘dance break’, during which she can be seen dancing on desks, in a recording studio, and even in a toilet cubicle, she reveals her intention to quit.

She later explained to HuffPost Live that the Taiwanese working conditions were very different to those in America and that she regularly suffered last-minute schedule changes, or had to work without a lunch break.

In the video’s Youtube description, she adds: “I believe it's more important to focus on the quality of the content. When you learn to improve this, the views will come.”

Quizzed further by The Huffington Post Ms Shifrin said: "I understood that it was a risk, but I never named the company or my boss and I mean, have you seen my dancing? How can anyone take that seriously?"

‘An Interpretive Dance For My Boss Set To Kanye West's Gone’ has received over 4 million hits on Youtube so far, while in the meantime its author has announced her intention to move back to the USA to find a job where her creativity will be valued.
