The London Egg Bank, the UK’s first egg bank, has unveiled a new brand identity, website and marketing materials as it officially launches following a trial period.

Designed by Silk Pearce, the visual identity is centred on a hand-drawn and painted logo combined with calligraphic type and illustrations by Sarah Coleman and inspirational quotes.

The website provides information on egg donation and aims to educate and recruit donors, as well as recipients. The site content is presented in a Q&A format and features online literature, video clips and links to the bank’s blog, Twitter and Facebook feeds.

“We wanted to design a uniquely recognisable visual identity for The London Egg Bank to reflect its friendly personality and the kindness shown by donors, rather than giving it the formal, institutional feel that is so widely seen in the fertility treatment sector,” said Jack Pearce, creative head.

“The bank has been running on a trial basis since January but is now being formally launched to encourage more women to help others experience the joy of motherhood, as well as reducing the need for UK patients to go overseas for treatment,” said Jack Pearce, creative head at Silk Pearce.

Silk Pearce’s first wave of design projects also includes: stationery, an online brochure on egg donation, a concertina leaflet that folds to the size of an Oyster card, London Underground and print advertising, and exhibition panels.
