Vimeo has today announced its integration into Apple's new iOS 7 operating system, which will see users be able to upload directly from the camera and photo apps.

“We are proud that iOS 7 users can now instantly upload videos directly to Vimeo from their iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, and can't wait for our users to try it out,” said Nick Alt, Vimeo’s vice president of mobile and connected TV.

“In addition, we’re excited to be first to market with an app that allows for the instant playback of videos, even if they’re not connected to the Internet – a feature that gives our members a taste of where we’re headed with iOS 7.”

In addition to the iOS 7 integration, Vimeo is launching its new app for iOS 7.

New features include the most recent videos saved by a member to Vimeo’s Watch Later or My Videos sections being available for instant playback, even offline. This comes the day after YouTube announced that it will update its mobile access in November so users can watch videos offline.

Other new features include thumbnail videos and the ability to share any videos on their device with other iOS 7 users via AirDrop.
