Kiosked, a distributed commerce platform, has announced the appointment of senior board members after securing $6.9m in funding.

The round of funding was led by Kevin Wall of Craton Equity Partners, who will also join Kiosked’s board of directors, and John Lindfors, partner at Digital Sky Technologies.

Wall commented: “Kiosked’s technology provides a much-needed solution for monetising online content across a variety of platforms and business industry sectors, including entertainment. Online marketing needs to become a non-intrusive service for consumers, otherwise it will not succeed. I am intrigued by the way Kiosked solves this challenge and provides the right tools to turn advertising into a true service for consumers.”

Wall is also CEO of Control Room and an Emmy Award-winning producer. He will produce the opening concert for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

The funding will be used to help expand the company in the US and Asia, as well as to help launch Kiosked’s mobile content monetisation solutions.
