Doctor Who (with a Glasgow accent) hits America on Hulu Plus channel

Doctor Who, complete with Glaswegian accent, is heading to America with $7.99 a month online subscription service Hulu Plus . No word what will happen to the f-words in the clip seen above.

The network says it has agreed a non-exclusive, multi-year deal with BBC Worldwide North America that will allow it to deliver BBC content to its subscribers. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The Hulu Plus service has provided a number of U.K. programmes since its launch and the new deal makes it one of the top destinations in the U.S. for British content, says Siliconvalley.com.

Effective immediately, Hulu Plus subscribers can access popular BBC shows like "Doctor Who," (Glaswegian Peter Capaldi is the 12th Doctor) as well as natural history and factual programmes such as "Blue Planet."

More shows will launch in the autumn ,and others throughout the year. Hulu Plus subscribers will have access to more than 2,000 episodes of BBC Worldwide titles.

A selection of BBC programmes will also be on the free Hulu.com service.
