Emirates airline has announced the appointment of Bryan Banston as its Vice President, Commercial Operations, Australasia.

Banston has 30 years aviation industry experience

He moves into the role from his former post as National Accounts Manager

“I look forward to taking up the reins for Emirates in Australia and New Zealand,” he said.

“Our footprint in Australia and New Zealand has gone from strength to strength in recent years with the support of a world-class team of employees on both sides of the Tasman. I hope to continue this strong tradition.

“Since flights to Melbourne commenced in 1996, Emirates has created more than 3,500 jobs within Australia, carried over 16 million passengers and 350,000 tonnes of cargo, as well as invested more than $190 million in advertising; arts, community and sports sponsorships in both Australia and New Zealand.

“The future is bright, as we look towards the impending launch of Brisbane’s very first A380 service and the Emirates Melbourne Cup, of which we’ve been a partner for the last 16 years, and of course building our global aviation partnership with Qantas,” he concluded.
