Aberdeen-based digital agency Deer Digital announced its immediate closure on Tuesday, citing difficulties maintaining cash flow.

Announcement: The Aberdeen-based agency has closed

The agency was founded in 2010 and employs around 13 members of staff.

A blog post on the agency’s website said: “It is with deep sadness that today we announce the closure of Deer Digital Ltd.

“The biggest challenge we have faced as a small business has been cash flow. Maintaining a high level of sales to service a large overhead whilst dealing with challenging payment terms is what has ultimately lead to this decision.

“It should be known that this is not a liquidation and the company is not in administration. We believe we are doing the best by everyone to handle these matters in a controlled way to prevent letting down team members, clients or suppliers in the near future.”

The company added it would be contacting clients to discuss their projects and issued an assurance that their websites would not disappear.

In a separate post on a personal blog, Deer Digital product manager Billy Fagan spoke of his disappointment in a piece titled “Paid off”.

“I feel like I was part of something very special there. I, for one, will miss it deeply. It’s a chapter of my life I didn’t foresee closing but I feel very privileged to have been a part of it all,” he wrote.

The agency counted Stork Technical Services, Reach, Enterprise North East Trust and Atlantic Resourcing among clients.
