Gareth Bale tweets to thank Tottenham and Southampton after £85m move to Real Madrid
Gareth Bale, the world's most expensive footballer, has turned to Twitter to celebrate his move to Real Madrid and thank the fans of his previous teams. Bale, who completed his protracted £85m move from Tottenham Hostpur to Real Madrid after much speculation over recent months, sent a tweet this morning featuring #dreamcometrue and the twitter handle for his new team. He followed it up with another tweet thanking both Tottenham and his previous club Southampton, describing them as "two very special clubs" and thanks the Spurs fans for their support over the last six years. It has been reported that The Welsh midfielder is earning £300,000 a week following the move. Bale currently has 1.3m followers on Twitter.
