sportScotland awards The Union communications brief ahead of 2014 Commonwealth Games and Ryder Cup

sportScotland has selected The Union to develop its programme of communications ahead of the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the Ryder Cup.

“With the Commonwealth Games and Ryder Cup just around the corner, sport in Scotland is enjoying significant profile like never before. sportScotland’s focus is on developing and supporting a world class system for sport at every level and these events have helped us accelerate our work toward this goal,” explained Matt Lock, head of communications at sportScotland. “As we head into 2014 and beyond we need a fully integrated marcomms agency to support our ambition and we are confident The Union is the right agency to do this.”

The Union has now been tasked with developing a range of consumer and stakeholder communications for sportScotland,

Of the appointment, Kyle Hardie, The Union MD, said: “Sport in general makes a remarkable contribution to society, and sportScotland’s role - by supporting a world-class system of sport from schools to elite athletes is a crucial one. We are especially pleased to be helping Matt and the team in 2014, which will be a brilliant year for sport in Scotland.”
