Facebook has launched a new shared photo albums feature, allowing up to 50 users to bring their photos together in one, communal album.

Once it has been shared by the original creator, each contributor can upload up to 200 photos, meaning shared albums will be able to hold around 10,000 images.

'Public', 'friends of contributors' and 'contributors only' are the three privacy settings available, and the original creator can choose to keep new contributor invitations to themselves, or share it with existing users.

Currently it is only available to individual profiles, meaning brand or company Pages cannot yet use the feature.

The service rolled out across the US yesterday, 26 August, with international release expected to follow.
