Mercedes Benz announces Google Glass trial
Mercedes Benz has announced it is to become a commercial partner for Google Glass by introducing a trial navigation system which marries in-car GPS with Google’s hi-tech specs.
The system is geared toward creating a ‘door-to-door navigation experience’ that can be used not only in the car but on foot as well.
According to Wired this will see GPS data relayed between the in-car display and the Glass headset to ensure that live information is in front of the owner at all times.
Still in its early testing stages Glass has as yet only been worn by a limited group of early adopters but is due to go on commercial release next year.
The system isn’t likely to be of benefit to UK road users however after the British government revealed it was considering banning drivers from using Glass.
