WhatsApp gets a free four minute ad in Katy Perry’s latest music video
From the looks of Katy Perry’s ‘lyrics’ video for her new song ‘Roar’, you would think WhatsApp had entered into a costly deal to feature so heavily.
The video shows her avidly using WhatsApp to share her share her song lyrics, however the messaging service doesn’t have an official celebrity endorsement deal with Perry
A spokesman confirmed to Forbes that it is WhatsApp being used throughout the near four-minute video but that that no money was exchanged between the company and the singer.
Apple also received a plug, as the app is used on its white iPhone.
The video has already been viewed over two million times since its upload on YouTube yesterday.
