Universal promotes Doug Neil to executive VP of digital marketing

Universal has announced Doug Neil as executive vice president of digital marketing.

Neil has worked with Universal’s digital marketing team since 2006, having previously served as director of account strategy at AOL.

He reports to co-president of marketing Michael Moses, who said: “Doug earned this promotion with every click, like, post and share he and his team have generated for our films, propelling our studio into industry leaders in the digital and social spaces.”

Neil has been involved in to online promotion of films including ‘Fast and the Furious’, ‘The Purge’ and ‘Ted’, where he launched the Twitter handle, @WhatTedSaid which earned the film more than 200 million engagements across social media platforms.
