CNET, the technology news and reviews brand, has launched XCAR, a branded video content site which is being exclusively sponsored by Audi.

Engineered to appeal to car enthusiasts, the site will initially advertise content on Audi’s all-new TDI clean diesel vehicles.

Audi’s sponsorship is designed to help further raise awareness for the company’s advanced TDI clean-diesel technology.

“In CNET and XCAR, we found terrific platforms to extend the message of Audi TDI clean diesel technology,” said Loren Angelo, director of marketing, Audi of America. “The tech-savvy audience drawn to the video content they are serving has a lot in common with the consumers eager to learn more about the range, fuel economy, refinement, and emission reductions provided by TDI.”

As it becomes the centerpiece of CNET’s automotive coverage, the site is being distributed via CNET’s platform and network of video partners having been introduced in beta last year by a small team in Europe.

“CNET is committed to delivering the best premium content across all categories that matter to consumers, especially the automotive space where manufacturers count on technology to distinguish their brands,” added Mark Larkin, senior vice president and general manager of CNET.
