m/SIX, the UK-based media agency that is an equity partnership between creative agency CHI & Partners and GroupM, has announced the appointment of David Stopforth to head up its New York office, as it looks to expand its North American operations.

In the role of managing director, Stopforth will lead the company’s US operations, with a key focus of driving strategy across all clients.

Reporting to Global CEO Jess Burley, Stopforth has also been tasked with improving sales efficiency by leveraging insights derived from m/SIX’s data, digital and analytics services.

“David’s experience on the client and agency side makes him the ideal person to lead our team in the US,” said Burley. “Clients are challenged today by the complexity in communication channels and the need to always demonstrate ROI. David can help our clients be more agile in overcoming these challenges.”

The agency, which was launched in 2012, works with clients including Campari, Britvic and AM/PM.

Stopforth most recently served as group strategy director at Zenith Media in New York, where he led planning for clients including JPMorgan Chase Card Services, H&M North America, Delta Airlines and PUMA International AG. Prior to that he served as head of media, strategy and operations at Reebok International.

“Kelly Clark, CEO of GroupM North America, added: “m/SIX has been a big success in the UK and we’re excited about their prospects in the US. David and his team can count on the full support and resources of GroupM as they build the business here.”
