Moxy Hotels, the new hotel brand from Marriott International and the property division of Inter IKEA Group, has selected BSUR Amsterdam and its partner for branding, helping define brand voice, communication look and feel, as well as communication strategies.

The appointment follows a selection process including four branding and communications agencies from across Europe and the US.

“We have chosen BSUR Amsterdam, because they presented strong unconventional ideas that showed they deeply understand our target group of young international Millennials. They are as ‘visual and connected’ as our future guests will be,” remarked Ramesh Jackson, global brand manager, Marriott International.

Moxy Hotels mark Marriott International’s first move into the economy tier, with the first hotel due to launch in Milan in early 2014. The group aims to open 150 hotels throughout Europe within the next 10 years.

BSUR Group CEO, Jan Rijkenberg, added: “We are very proud to have become a partner in the brand development of Moxy at such an early stage in the process.

"When we were shown the new hotel concept it became clear something never done before is now going to happen. It is the best in design and in how to make creative use of space.”
