Portsmouth FC adds augmented reality technology to matchday programmes

Portsmouth FC has engaged Navigate Digital to create interactive matchday programmes using augmented reality.

Exclusive video content can be viewed from the programme using the Blippar app

This season, thanks to a partnership with Navigate Digital and Blippar, Pompey fans will be able to view video content straight from their matchday programmes using the Blippar app on pages that carry the Blippar logo.

Though the stadium doesn’t offer full Wi-Fi connectivity yet, the content will work on supporters’ mobile or tablet devices when connected to a Wi-Fi network outside of the stadium, or inside of the park depending on their network availability.

Engagement manager at Portsmouth FC, Micah Hall, commented: “We are absolutely delighted to bring our supporters this cutting edge technology. Navigate Digital has helped us to frame an agreement directly with Blippar to make this possible, for which we are very grateful.

“We felt our programme for the Charlton and Rayo friendlies was our best ever, but this one takes the publication to a whole new level.”
