Phones 4u has agreed a five-year, multi-million pound sponsorship deal with SMG Europe to create the Phones 4u Arena Manchester.

The deal sees the entertainment venue, website and tickets undergoing a complete Phones 4u rebrand, starting immediately.

Scott Hooton, chief commercial officer at Phones 4u, said the deal marked “an incredibly exciting time in Phones 4u’s history”. He added: “The partnership is also particularly relevant considering the rapid convergence of the entertainment and mobile space and over time, will allow us to deliver a whole host of exclusive benefits to our customers.”

Phones 4u customers will now get access to exclusive competitions through dedicated social media campaigns, including the chance to win tickets for events and securing ‘the best seats in the house’. The partnership will also feature in the retailer’s latest advertising activity #ProjectUpgrade.

Head of brand communications at Phones 4u, Caspar Nelson, commented: “We’re really excited to be welcoming a whole host of internationally acclaimed acts and sporting events to the Phones 4u Arena in the coming months, from the world of music, comedy, family entertainment and sport.”

Of the partnership, James Allen, general manager for Phones 4u Arena, said: “We’re delighted to join forces with such a youthful, engaging and consumer-focused brand that shares our commitment to world class products and customer service. Today’s announcement, alongside the exciting initiatives we are already working on with our new partner, further strengthens SMG’s position in the world of live entertainment.”
