AT&T replaced as Google and Starbucks partner to bring faster Wi-Fi to customers across the US

Google and Starbucks have announced a partnership that will offer free, faster Wi-Fi hotspots to customers across the US.

Within the next 18 months, Starbucks will offer 10 times faster Wi-Fi across all of its stores via the “Google Starbucks” network, while in Google Fiber cities like Kansas that will jump to 100 times faster.

Google replaces AT&T as the supplier of Wi-Fi at US Starbucks stores.

Speaking to Mashable. Adam Brotman, chief digital officer for Starbucks, said the upgrade was all about improving the customer experience: "We really focus on how this enhances the customer experience and we believe if we continue to focus on that, good things will come to our business downstream."

He continued: "We do believe that all the things we do to enhance the instore experience enhance sales."
