VivaKi has promoted Danny Hopwood, director of product for Publicis Groupe’s trading desk Audience On Demand (AOD) to the new role of head of platform, EMEA

Hopwood played a vital role in driving the development of AOD, VivaKi’s addressable media buying practice.

In his new role he will be responsible for developing the AOD offering while creating wider platform solutions across EMEA to ensure consistency and quality of the service, reporting to executive managing director for VivaKi, EMEA, Marco Bertozzi.

Bertozzi said: “We have outlined ambitious growth plans and as we continue our global expansion it’s imperative we continue to provide a superior product and maintain the high standards AOD is synonymous with.

“A large part of Danny’s new role will be working with the local markets to ensure these high standards are met.”

Hopwood joined VivaKi in 2012 from Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG), where he worked in the performance team with clients including Honda, Cineworld, Universal and Europcar.

In May VivaKi revealed it was restructuring its addressable media business with the launch of a European Activation hub in Amsterdam.

The news of Hopwood’s promotion follows the announcement that Publicis and Omnicom are set to merge, bringing together agencies including BBH, BBDO, Interbrand, Leo Burnett, OMD, Saatchi & Saatchi, and StarcomMediaVest and ZenithOptimedia under one banner.

The move will also see the trading desks of each holding group, AOD and Accuen, come together, potentially providing a major boost to the programmatic trading market.
