The advertising revenues across Australian commercial television has fallen in the first half of 2013.

A confusing picture

Revenues to June 2013 total $1.377 billion in metropolitan areas, down 0.3 per cent on last year’s figures.

Figures for both metropolitan and regional areas were down 0.62 percent, to $1.805bn.

The figures, compiled by KPMG, show a declining ad share for Network Ten, with almost 22% market share, compared to over 40 per cent for Network 7, and more than 37 per cent share for Nine.

Revenues in the Perth, Sydney and Melbourne markets increased marginally, but declined in Brisbane by almost 4 per cent.
