The Grand Depart looks to Evolution to turn Yorkshire yellow in 2014

Tourism bosses have joined forces with Tourist Information Centres across the Yorkshire region to start turning Yorkshire yellow before the Tour de France comes to the UK’s largest county in 2014.

Within days of this year’s Tour de France finishing Christian Prudhomme, Tour de France Director, made a flying visit to Yorkshire to see firsthand how it is preparing for the biggest annual sporting event in the world.

The Grand Départ will see riders race from Leeds to Harrogate on July 5 and then York to Sheffield on July 6, 2014.

Sheffield-based print specialists, Evolution Print, is now working with the Tour de France to produce promotional materials for The Grand Depart.

Gary Verity, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire who led the winning bid for Le Tour, said: “Working with Evolution Print and our TIC partners, we can help ensure that visitors right across Yorkshire will be aware of this massive event happening right here next year. It is the biggest free show on earth and Yorkshire will be the focus of the world’s attention which can only be good for tourism and the wider business economy.
