A ukactive campaign to promote gyms, leisure centres and fitness providers across the UK will begin together as part of the Change4Life ‘Get Going This Summer’ promotion.

Beginning today, 27 July, the integrated campaign by 23red will run across English local authorities to encourage their residents to be more active during their summer holiday, with offers being rolled out within local communities across 800 locations, including partnerships with LA Fitness and Fitness First.

A campaign website will also offer information on free and discounted events to inspire physical activity, while families will also be encouraged to visit the Change4Life website for ideas and advice in keeping active.

David Stalker, CEO, at ukactive, explained: "Harnessing the collective footprint and reach of ukactive members provides hundreds of thousands of people with the opportunity to get active this summer. Change4Life shares our goal of improving the health of the nation by getting more people, more active, more often and we’re delighted to be working in partnership with the campaign."

Awareness will be driven through local radio and the distribution of communications materials.
