Twitter’s Biz Stone suggests Facebook could make $1bn a month from premium, ad-free version of the site
A premium, ad-free version of Facebook could make the social network $1bn a month in revenue, according to Twitter co-founder Biz Stone.
Stone suggested that Mark Zuckerberg consider introducing a $10 (£6.50) per month subscription, which would allow users to use Facebook free from ads.
"I've got an idea for Facebook. They could offer Facebook Premium. For $10 a month, people who really love Facebook [and can afford it], could see no ads. Maybe some special features too," said Stone in a blog post.
"If 10 per cent of Facebook signed up, that's $1bn a month in revenue. Not too shabby."
