Apology: Herald Scotland was forced to say sorry to readers
In a statement titled "Sorry, we're facing production problems", the title said a "gremlin" was causing technical problems and the website's usual dose of news, sport, business and comment was affected.

A ballot over the job cuts was announced a short time later by the NUJ.
