Former Prime Minister Julia Gillard has made her first step returning to public life with the launch of an enigmatic new website.

The site offers no clue of the former PM's plans

JuliaGillard.com.au currently has no content, no tabs, and no indication of what it will contain.

The site facilitates contact via a form, but the site currently hosts a studio portrait of the former Prime Minister, and nothing else.

Since the leadership spill, Gillard has maintained a low public profile. She issued a sole Tweet on 11 July, acknowledging supporters and pledging to return “down the track.“ The new website is the first indication of how she proposes to spend her post political life.

“Thanks to all who have sent notes and gifts. Deeply appreciated. Looking forward to time with family. Will see you all down the track,“ she tweeted, signing off ’JG’, confirming it was authored by herself, and not a staffer.

This week it was announced that she had signed a book deal, which is understood to relate to the publication of her political memoirs.
