Online retailers Amazon UK and ASOS along with a host of other retailers are to introduce new delivery tracking service Follow My Parcel.

Provided by DPD and Interlink Express, the joint service launching 5 August will allow customers to track their package in real-time and includes a final 15 minute countdown to delivery time.

"Knowing exactly when a parcel is being delivered helps our customers plan their day; to be at home when they need to be for a delivery, or to let them get on with what they need to do by opting to reschedule or choosing the deliver to neighbour option," explained ASOS CEO Nick Robertson.

A link to the parcel tracking map will be included by DPD in its existing text alerts. As well as providing an accurate delivery countdown, customers will also be able to see where they are on the courier's delivery schedule.

Follow My Parcel will be available to Amazon customers using next-day delivery and Prime customers.
