Stirling Castle is inviting children to nominate their ultimate Scottish hero to mark the launch of a new interactive section on the landmark's website to help children learn more about it.

Launch: The new part of the website aimed at children, Kids Castle

Kids Castle was developed by Metadigital and allows children to create a personalised coat of arms, take part in quizzes and paint one of the famous Stirling Heads, as well as providing facts and information about the castle's history.

Children are being encouraged to nominate any Scot they believe deserves recognition for their achievements via written or video submissions, and whoever nominated the chosen entry will win a special VIP day out to the castle.

"Children love learning about Stirling Castle so we wanted to create a section on our website that's just for them," said Eleanor Muir, visitor experience manager at Stirling Castle.

"Kids Castle is educational, but fun and engaging at the same time and we hope that children and their families will use it before, during and after their visit to Stirling Castle to help them get the most out of their experience."

Stirling Castle is offering a range of children's tours throughout the summer.
