Innocent Drinks tweet sparks social media pet-off with O2, Tango and Betfair
Never one to miss an opportunity on social media O2 has high jacked Innocent Drinks playful picture of a pup to promote its #bemoredog campaign. Innocent Drinks posted the picture of the pooch covering the ‘No’ part of a ‘No dogs allowed’ sign to read ‘Dogs allowed’ on its Twitter feed yesterday prompting the mobile operator to reply.
@innocentdrinks This is actually a cat dressed up as a dog showing everyone how to #bemoredog ;)
— O2 in the UK (@O2) July 10, 2013To which O2 replied asking if they had any pictures of a dinosaur dressed as a dog and telling the soft drinks brand to bring back the Tango man as apparently he knew how to #bemoredog. The jesting between the brands carried on with fans also posting pictures of dogs in various get ups including pugs in wedding dresses and dinosaur costumes, a dog dressed as two dogs carrying box, a farmer dog and a robot dog. Betfair then got in on the act replying to Tango, O2 and Innocent Drinks offering up a picture of a sausage dog dressed as a giraffe. The friendly exchange between the brands sees Innocent Drinks offering to #bemoredog for O2 by “getting confused and distressed whenever we see a hoover” this weekend, and O2 offering to “shake things up a little, embrace new ideas and enjoy the sun while it lasts” to be more smooth in return.@DrinkTango @innocentdrinks @O2 pfft!
