TBWA\Chiat\Day Los Angeles has appointed Nick Barham to the newly created role of chief strategy officer.

As part of the agency’s executive leadership team, Barham has been tasked with overseeing strategy functions across all parts of the LA group and will work on all of its key accounts.

He will report directly to TBWA\Chiat\Day LA’s president, Carisa Bianchi. She commented: “Nick has a fantastically diverse career and will bring unique hybrid skills to creative and strategic leadership. His experience and authority in creating new revenue and working models through emerging technology will bring a great perspective to the strategic leadership of the agency”.

Barham was most recently the global director of W+K Tomorrow in Portland, where he led a team responsible for creating new revenue and working models, with a focus on sustainability and emerging technology. His clients included Nike, Target, the Gates Foundation and EcoDistricts.

Prior to that, while working for Wieden + Kennedy Shanghai as planning director, he delivered regional campaigns for clients including Nike, Coca Cola and Nokia.

Originally from London, Barham has also worked at Karmarama, BBC and BBH. He said: “Throughout my career, I've done my best to seek out roles that surprise and challenge me and allow me to keep learning. The unique structure of the TBWA\Chiat\Day LA Group combines agility with scale and presents great opportunities for the work that we create with our clients.”
