Mars has unveiled a new print and TV campaign to promote Snickers Bites, a new bite-size range it launched onto the market in May this year.

Kicking off today, 1 June, the advertising and social media campaign was created by BBDO New York and uses the familiar “You’re not you when you’re hungry” theme.

Continuing the tradition of using celebrities, previous ads have starred Betty White, Aretha Franklin, Don Rickles and Robin Williams, the 15 and 30-second spots feature musician Kenny G.

The shorter spot began airing today on CBS, NBC, Bravo and Comedy Central, while the 30-second version has been used on Snickers’ Facebook page and YouTube channel, as well as on sites like MSN.com and MTV.com.

The print campaign will see a one-and-a-half page spread in the July issues of People and Entertainment Weekly carrying the message that Snickers Bites are “like Snickers had babies”.

The ad campaign will run until 2014.
