PBS, the US TV network, is set to launch a range of Downton Abbey branded wines, ahead of the season four release.

But this won’t be any old bottle of rosé. No, the range of red and white wines will be made from the same French grapes grown on same vines and from the same soil as in the early 1900s.

Wines That Rock, the producers of Grateful Dead, the Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd-branded wines, are working with Dulong Grands Vins de Bordeaux to create the ‘vintage’ collection.

"We are working with The Dulong Grands Vins De Bordeaux vineyards, which have been in the same family for five generations," said Bill Zysblat, co-owner of Wines That Rock.

"They have over 130 years of experience in creating the world's best wines so these are wines the Crawley family would have been proud to serve at Downton."

Available through distributors in the US and Canada, the wines will be sold in single bottles and also packaged as gift sets.

The deal was arranged by Knockout Licensing.
