BSkyB and M&S pull Facebook advertising over 'inappropriate content'
Marks and Spencer and BSkyB have pulled their Facebook advertising after concerns about "inappropriate" content on the site.
Dislike: Pressure is piling on Facebook from advertisers and the public
According to the BBC, a member of the public reported the problem to the companies after spotting a Sky advert promoting an M&S voucher on a Facebook page titled "cute and gay boys".
M&S has dropped some of its Facebook advertising while BSkyB has suspended all.
Facebook is expected to announce plans to tackle the problem later on Friday.
The social network has been under pressure from members of the public demanding action on certain content on the social networking site, including the #FBrape campaign, which lobbied brands to pull advertising until Facebook addressed pages condoning violence against women.
