Discount website MyVoucherCodes.co.uk has begun a rebranding and redesign project as it aims to relaunch later in the summer.

The rebranding exercise will use crowdsourcing methods with over 20 designers involved across its worldwide network, with the process having begun in January.

Parent company Markco Media invited designers and agencies to offer ideas for both the rebrand and overhaul of the site through a competitive pitching process. In the end illustrator and designer Faiz Fadli was appointed to lead the project after 20 designers worldwide submitted proposals.

After six years, the company hopes the rebrand will emphasise the growth of the MyVoucherCodes brand and help it achieve stand out among what had grown to become a competitive marketplace.

Mark Pearson, chairman of MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, explained the need to consult with 20 designers during the pitching process: “With this being such an important project, we wanted to get as many ideas as possible to ensure we could create a brand that would really resonate with our user base. Crowdsourcing designs seemed to be the best way to do this and we weren’t wrong- the submissions we received were incredibly impressive, and we’re confident that our winning design is a strong lead for our global relaunch.”

He continued: “We think the future of brand development will be crowdsourcing and believe we are one of the largest businesses to date to so comprehensively use crowdsourcing to redevelop our brand identity. We’re sure where we lead, others will soon follow.”

The new identity is expected to be unveiled by the end of the summer.
