Turf TV, brand name of Amalgamated Racing Limited - a joint venture company owned 50-50 by Racecourse Media Services Limited and Timeweave plc, has struck a deal with their compatriots across the pond to allow punters to bet on races in the States.

The deal includes famous tracks such as Santa Anita Park, Gulfstream Park and Golden Gate Fields and incorporates key events such as the Preakness Stakes.

Adrian Ford, Turf TV’s managing director, said the deal was geared toward generating a “global audience” for racing, adding: “British and Irish runners are regularly competing for prizes across the world and last week’s Royal Ascot attracted high-quality runners from the US, Australia and South Africa.”

Ford believes there is ‘clear demand’ from the public for such an international venture, augmenting home grown staples such as Ascot, Cheltenham, Aintree and York.
