The International Olympic Committee is seeking to entirely repackage the Olympic broadcasting proposal being offered to Australia, after rejecting the latest network bid for the rights worth $90 million.

A $90 million bid has been refused by the IOC

The IOC has told Australian networks that the Australian broadcast rights will repackage its deal as a single package to include the forthcoming Rio 2016 Games, the 2018 winter and the 2020 Summer Games, for which a host city has not yet been selected.

The Drum understands that networks do not favour the conjoined package, and consequently the IOC is considering brokering a deal for the Rio package alone.

Network Ten is broadcasting the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in 2014.
