Channel Ten’s Natasha Exelby suffered a newreader’s nightmare as she caught a fit of the giggles whilst trying to read a news story about riots in Brazil and a building collapse in India in which five children died.

Moments before handing over live to Exelby, colleague Matt Doran prompted her with banter over Exelby’s apparent attraction to his own guest.

Her mirth carried over into her voiceover of footage showing unfolding events in Brazil.

Exelby later apologised for corpsing during the reports.

"I just wanted to apologise I got a case of the giggles a little bit earlier while reading some very serious news and if I have offended anyone I am sincerely sorry," she said.
