Leeds marketing agency The Black Hole has donated £20,000 worth of professional time to Yorkshire Cancer Research, said to be the UK’s largest medical research charity.

Black Hole has made Yorkshire Cancer Research charity of the year

The gift in kind is intended to help the charity get its communications to market more quickly.

The agency was recently appointed to the brief to develop core member communications for the charity following a competitive pitch process.

“Without public support we are unable to fund vital research that is saving people’s lives,” said Emma Coates, partnerships manager for Yorkshire Cancer Research.

“This £20,000 donation in kind means that we can get our message out to existing and potential supporters more quickly, accelerate engagement and donations and develop more effective marketing whilst still ensuring that we invest as much as possible in research.

“The Black Hole impressed us with their understanding of our target audience, and the messages they developed to help increase engagement with our donors communicate the outstanding work that Yorkshire Cancer Research does in a very compelling way.”

Philip Crick, managing director of The Black Hole said: “Soon after starting work with the team we felt that the earlier we could help them get their messages out, the better the returns they could see.

“So we decided that making Yorkshire Cancer Research our charity of the year and donating time and skills would be a great way to help support their significant research efforts in our region.

“Helping Yorkshire Cancer Research develop communications that increase response from their audience, from basic engagement to large donations, will maintain and grow the strength and stability of an important organisation.”
