Egmont Press and Shape A/S have brought to life A. A. Milne's original Winnie-the-Pooh tales in a new app.

The app allows users to read the stories themselves, or have them read aloud by actor Rufus Jones; and also includes features such as biographies of the creators and a recording of A. A. Milne himself reading one of his stories.

Tim Jones from Egmont Press said: “We’re thrilled to be bringing the original Pooh stories by A. A. Milne and E. H. Shepard to life on the the iPad and iPhone. The masterful storytelling of these classic tales has been loved by parents and children for over 80 years, so Winnie-the-Pooh truly is The Bear for All Ages. We hope this interactive storytelling experience will introduce a whole new generation of fans to the adventures of Pooh and his friends."

The original illustrations from E. H. Shepard will be animated for the first time, with the illustrations moving from black and white to full colour.

The free app is available on iPad and iPhone.
