The latest American campaign for Dewar whisky has come under fire, because of English-Italian actress Claire Forlani’s bad attempt at a Scottish accent.

The series of ads show Forlani try to roll her ‘r’s as she speaks in an accent that sounds like a Scottish-Irish hybrid, before asking a question to the unseen ‘Angus’ at the end of each ad.

American ad agency Opperman Weiss has stood up for the campaign it created, saying she ‘draws the viewer in’.
